HELLO OUTTOWNERS!
ITS WEDNESDAY

TIME TO GET TOWNED!

The main STL arts and entertainment story this week was: The announcement that New York Knicks Guard and former Saint Louis University Billiken Larry Hughes (LEFT) and East St. Louis High School alum Darius Miles (RIGHT)being named as the two head coaches for the 4Sho4Kids presents Derrty Entertainment vs. Loosecannon Celebrity Basketball Game at Chaifetz Arena at Saint Louis University on Friday, May 8 .

New England Patriots Running Back and Normandy High School product Laurence Maroney(LEFT) as well as Detroit Lions Wide Receiver and Vashon alum Will Franklin (RIGHT)are also scheduled to appear. We hope that the game will be a nail biter just like it was last year (we just HEARD about it) held at Harris Stow U Auditorium when the game went into overtime on a two point victory by Nelly’s Derrty team.

Speaking of Nelly, according to
SoJones.com, STL rapper/mogul Nelly has partnered with Romane Fragrances and is set to release his own Apple Bottoms scent. The fragrance is "designed to be the perfect compliment to the lifestyle of the Apple Bottoms woman," celebrating the "beauty and the curves we see in our core female demographic," said a press release. The Apple Bottoms by Nelly Eau de Parfum is infused with a burst of citrus and a subtle pink peony note, and also includes rose and coconut as floral layers. Also, sandalwood, golden amber, velvet musk, and a soft hint of apple blossoms creates the heady signature scent that lingers on the skin, the company's description reads.

The scent will be launched along with a range of beauty products -- consisting of pearlescent body wash products each retailed at $20 and body lotion products retailed at $22. The Apple Bottoms fragrance will be available in two sizes -- 3.4-oz. retailed at $58 and 1.7-oz. retailed at $48.
It will also come packaged in a box designed with decorative golden chains, overlaying a white background.
It is slated to debut in fall 2009 in department and specialty stores.

Four Chi-town native and based female personalities were also in the newz:

AP--On Tuesday, Chicago native First Lady Michelle Obama visited the Sesame Street set to tape a video about health and nutrition with Elmo. Later Mrs. Obama addressed a crowd at the United Nations in New York and she told them about her prior engagement.
"I'm thrilled to be here but I was just at Sesame Street--I'm sorry," she said .” And I never thought I'd be on Sesame Street with Elmo and Big Bird, and I was thrilled. I'm still thrilled. I'm on a high."
She added: "I think it's probably the best thing I've done so far in the White House. But we were there talking about nutrition and healthy eating, and it's just been a thrill."

Mrs. Obama joins Barbara Bush and Hillary Clinton on the guest list of former U.S first ladies who have visited Sesame Street. Celebrity appearances have been a big part of the show since it debuted in 1969. Billy Joel, Julia Roberts, Ziggy Marley, Yo-Yo Ma, Lily Tomlin, Robin Williams, Christopher Reeve, and Denzel Washington are only a few of the big-name stars who have made their way to the famous street.
