OUT 289--STL-TIDBITZ AND MORE!

STL-TIDBITZ

Well, looks like The U.S. Supreme Court has turned down former Illinois Gov. George Ryan’s (PICTURED RIGHT) last-ditch effort to remain free on bond. He reported to a Wisconsin prison today (Wednesday) to begin a 6 ½- year sentence for corruption in office. Ryan, who had a press conference earler today at his Kankakee home, was convicted last year of racketeering, fraud and other crimes during his four years as governor (1999-2003) and his tenure before that as Illinois Secretary of State. A federal jury in Chicago found Ryan guilty of steering state contracts to associates in exchange for trips, gifts and cash. Those associates included his co-defendant, Larry Warner, who was scheduled to begin his own prison term at a facility in Colorado on today. The jury found Ryan also impeded an investigation into bribery by his underlings for licensing unqualified truckers, of one whom later caused a horrific highway accident in Wisconsin that killed six children. Ryan and Warner have remained free on bond since their April 2006 convictions. At his press conference, Ryan says that he was innocent of the charges. All I can say, no politician is without some dirt on their hands, but I don;t think he will serve that long. For Chrissake he is alsmost 80 years old for one and I think hi ssentence will be cut shoirt for good behavior.......................The other hot newz item has been the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee launching an investigation into alleged financial wrongdoing involving six well-known televangelists -- including Fenton, Missouri based televangleist Joyce Meyer (PICTURED LEFT) The investigation letter asked for Meyer and her organization, Joyce Meyer Ministries (JMM) to provide by Dec. 6 information ranging from audited financial statements to an explanation of the tax exempt purpose of a pair of Dresden vases purchased for JMM's Fenton headquarters that cost more than $19,000. The committee also wants, among other things, information on executive compensation; credit card statements used by Joyce and David (her husband)Meyer since 2004 for expenses paid by JMM with explanations for each expense; and a list of all property purchased by JMM including the cost of renovations and maintenance. In a statement posted on its Web site, JMM said it "is committed to conducting itself with excellence and integrity, choosing to go above and beyond the level of accountability required by law and/or that expected by most donors. Since 1995, JMM has voluntarily undergone an independent annual financial audit." The audit is also for five other televangelsists including Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Creflo Dollar Ministries of College Park, Paula White Ministries of Tampa, Florida; Benny Hinn Ministries of Grapevine, Texas; and Kenneth Copeland Ministries of Newark, Texas. Whats up with this Senator? He didnt get his Holy oil yet in the mail ? ............................

I guess err body and they mamma was off track this past Saturday when the time went back an hour. I think a lot of folk were either happy or confused with the Daylight Savings Time cuz folk either folk had an extra hour to party or were going to church too early the following Sunday.......And what is going on with this gas? Nationwide, its 3 bucks a gallon! They say barrelles of crude could go as high as 100 bucks a barrell!

Looks like St. Louis Mayor Slay is trying not to get "slayed" with the black communtiy. The mayor was trying to get a forum together with black leaders, mainly the coalition who are scheduling a 16-week plan as well as rallies for his recall after his demotion of former Fire Cheif Sherman George, the first African American fire chief in the STL. Most black leaders are saying that they do not wantto meet with the mayor just to save face and that he could "whitewash " the urban problem in the city. Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Jim Buford agreed to meet with him not to try and save face, but to try and heal the wounds of the balck community. Yeah, okay. In the meantime, Slay is trying to find a replacement of George which accoridng to Slay will be within the week. Accoridng to the Fire Department's Charter, the appointment has to be within the fire department or someone who is Batallion Chief or higher. The Interim Fire Chief Steven Kortraba, who was temp chief after George's demotion, did not apply for the position.....................Whats up with the drug dealers who attended SIU-Edwardsville who burned another student after he doubel crossed them after buying drugs from them. From my uinderstanding, the two students kidnapped the third and tortured him by burning him with hot cookies from the oven? Man, who would have thought the Pillsbury Dough Boy would be used as evidence in the investaigation of a bad drug deal?...... Did ya'll hear that former Gov. Blunt's deputy legal counsel Scott Eckersley was fired for going on his work computer and to access a sexually oriented dating Web site - what Blunt aides called a "group sex" site?................Looks like another ST. Louis Rams is going to be sidlelined for the rest of the season due to injury. Defensive end Leonard Little will undergo surgery today (Wednesday) for a torn ligament in his left toe. It will take 3 to 6 months to heal. Little has been bothered by the toe injury much of the season. But he aggravated it Oct. 14 in Baltimore, with further testing revealing that he had a torn ligament in his left big toe. He played the following week in Seattle, but on a more limited basis than usual. Little then sat out the Cleveland game Oct. 28 and had the bye week off as well. But the toe did not improve......In other Rams news, Box Office champ Denzel Washington of the hit (and much heavily bootlegged) film American Gangster feels that his son John needs to play more on the Rams. Accoridng to panachereport.com, Washington said, "The (St. Louis) Rams are 0 and 8. Now, I'm not saying my boy should play, I'm not saying he could turn things around." Denzel Washington feels his son John (a football player) should be playing regularly as his team attempts to end a string of losses. I hear ya.........

Longtime STL alderman Freeman Bosley Sr. is pushing for an amendment trying to get..........................

....................pants sagging illegal in the STL area. Bosley plead his case on a recent interview with KMOX and syaing that it should be a law for this behavior and that it conjures up a prison mating ritual, but then chimed that his son, who is a straight A student also conforms to the fashion and then said that he can be lenient with his son for doing it. Bosley also said well remembering his own childhood when he used to rebel and wear his baseball cap turned backwards and how the neighborhood watchman would chastise him for doing it. This is CLASSIC. I dont think an amendement is what is needed for the pants to meet a belt. A belt to the area they are exposing is what is needed for real!................Did you all see the Space Shuttle Discovery come through the STL late Tuesday night? There were reports that folk saw it travel through here. As o fthsi wring, it was prepared to land at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.............

STL-based platinum rapper Chingy is doing up ST Louis tonight (Wednesday) as his label DTP is having a party for the rapper for his upcoming CD, "Hate it Or Love it," at Club Society and a lucky young lady will win a date with the rapper.......Whatever happened to DIVA Event Planning's annual fashion show raising money for the former Rams player Marshall Faulk that usually goes down around this time this (Are they feeling the slump, too? LOL?

STL-based rapper, Murphy Lee announced on his radio show U C Me Radio last Sunday on 100.3 The Beat that he got his vehicle broken into! The Grammy Award winning rapper didnt get into too much detail but apparently it happened last weekend......Congrats goes out to STL rapper YG who won in the rap battle when MTV2's Fight Klub came came through to the Lou last Monday at the Rock House (and to Sunday Night Shindig last Sunday as well to film the party people from what I hear). I hear that over 20 or so rappers comepted. MTV 2 also taped the battle for the show..........
OUTTOWN received scoop from a relaible source that the Drunken Fish on the Landing may be closing down. It was discovered the newly built restaurant got a visit from the Health Department and it was discovered for having a bevy of roaches and rodents present. So I guess whatever you though you were eating in the main course that looked like seasoning could have been............TMP! .....Looks like message therapist Seeta Sheppard, who YOURS TRULY met at QB's Halloween party last week, is also doing part time work at Bally Total Fitness in Clayton training to be a front desk attendant as well. OUTTOWN saw her as she was greeting the customers this week......

Lastly, OUTTOWN gives our sympathies to Majic 104.9 personlaity Tony Scott who lost his grandfather last weekend.

IN THE MIA(MISSING IN ACTION) FILE. What ever happened to longtime radio personality Richard "Onion" Horton?

BLIND BITZ. Which mover and shaker blurted out, "Damn, somebody needs to suck this dyck tonite!" at a recent event? (Hint. The mover and shaker is part of a social networking group and has a popular column on its site and the venue is a "traveling" networking event )

My friend Byron Lee emailed OUTTOWN and wrote:

I am e-mailing to ask if any of you, or anyone you know, has any interesting Thanksgiving traditions that they would not mind sharing with our paper for our upcoming issue. We ask that the respondents be as specific as possible regarding what they do and why they do it and that the responses be family friendly. We also ask that the people who provide answers give background information on themselves (name, age (if you feel comfortable giving it), occupation, hobbies, etc.) and send a suitable jpeg picture of themselves, along with their answers, to byronlstl@yahoo.com

As you may or may not already know, I’ve decided to finally start working on my album and become an artist. So I recently uploaded some of my video footage on YouTube. I’m sending you this link because I would like your honest opinion on a showcase I did in Denver, CO. Love changes, (by Mothers finest) and my original “holding on”.
Please check it out, tell me what you think, and if you want you can pass it on. Yes I’m trying to create a buzz, but I also want to improve so I can be the best artist that I can be in this business. To peep out the videos go to
