OUT 291--RETRO-BITZ (PART TWO)

LET'S SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE STL AREA THIS TIME LAST YEAR NOVEMEBR 1-14, 2006.

The St. Louis Cardinals are actually THE World Series champs(SEEN IN PIC ABOVE) ! I am like that Old school Atlantic Star jam, “Am I Dreaming?” And I think err body here in the STL are thinking the same thing. The last time the Cards has won a series was when Ozzie Smith was the star of player of the Redbirds, “ET” was the top flick, “Dallas” was one the top shows in the USA and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” was just getting ready to drop and I was a pre-teen (I’ll just leave it at that. LOL) That year was 1982. From 83 wins to World Series champions in less than a month is unheard of like the Invisible man trying to speak! They won their 10th championship, second in the major leagues to the New York Yankees' 26 titles. The Cards clinched the Series against the Detroit Tigers in Game 5 last Friday in the new Busch Stadium. I heard the news while attending the 4246 Fahsion Show (which I will talk about more in depth later in my report). I think American idol finalist and STL native Nikko Smith must have given them luck when he sang the National Anthem on that night (I guess someone must have shamed them for trying to get non-ST. Louisans country singers Billy Ray Cyrus (and his daughter , Disney star Miley) and Jo Dee Messina to perform! )

Nia’s 4246 Fashion show that was held at Anthony Robinson’s two –story house on McPherson.
About 60 or so people witnessed this show which reminded me of a fashion show that New York would have: classy models, great clothes, serious runway ISH. There were no choreographed numbers or none of the fashion filler. The music could have been more grander and more instrumental stuff from needles, but other than that, it was definitely one of the few shows I've seen that was runway fashion standard.
The fashions that were spotlighted were Paper Doll, Gyrl, Runway fashions, Blush, and Sole Blue.

The Post's Kevin Johnson (left) had a housewaming party at his abode in South St. Louis. Pictured with Johnson is hi scolleague Fashion Editor Dera Bass and guest.

Event planner Big Tah had his B-Day Bash at the Main Ingredient in South STL.
