Henson and Cedric the Entertainer....Lemmons and her husband Hall at the film festival.
The upcoming film, "Talk to Me" opened the Los Anegels Film Festival whcih began last Thursday and runs until July 1.

According to an article on U-Entertainment's website written by Jenny Peters, film fans filled the cavernous Mann Village theater, gleefully cheering on the assembled stars — Don Cheadle, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Martin Sheen, Taraji Henson, Cedric the Entertainer, Vondie Curtis-Hall — and (St. Louis born ) director Kasi Lemmons even before the picture unspooled.

Host Andy Garcia led the pack of fans, which included Steve Buscemi, Sharon Lawrence, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Radha Mitchell, Seymour Cassell and Victoria Rowell. An ovation followed the film, too, which tells the story of Petey Greene, the ex-con turned influential disc jockey and protest leader during the turbulent '60s.

Once everyone crossed the street to the huge outdoor block party, talk naturally turned to Don Cheadle's incredible performance as the outspoken, self-destructive Greene.
"I am always amazed by Don's performances, because he embodies each and every character that he portrays," said Taraji Henson, whose own turn as Greene's sexy main squeeze is a highlight of the movie (opening in limited release on July 13).

"You don't see Don Cheadle, he disappears just like he's checked out, until they yell cut and then crazy Don comes back! It was just incredible to watch."

Incredible to watch, too, were the hordes of people standing in huge lines, desperate to grab a bite to eat at the late night after-party; the cheers were definitely over at that point of the evening!
