WASSSUP OUTTOWNERS!
ITS WEDNESDAY
HERRE’S SOME ENTERTAINMENT BITZ THAT HAPPININ THE MISSOURI/ILLINOIS AREA THIS WEEK (BESIDES THE FUN OF WATCHIN THE SNOW AND ICE COEMN DOWN THIS WEEK! LOL) :
Close to 15,000 people poured into the Crestwood mall, arriving as early as 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, for an open casting call — vying for 2,100 parts to be an extra in George Clooney's new movie "Up in the Air," which begins filming here this spring. They anticipated the rush and were well organized, handing out tickets just to get in line. The tickets were for specific times. The line to get inside that room wrapped around much of the mall, but because the tickets had times on them, no one was forced to stand in line for more than two to three hours.Once someone arrived at the front of the line, they sat in front of the casting crew for only three to five minutes. The movie will take place, largely, in an airport, on airplanes and in hotels, so the casting crew was looking for business-type travelers and for anyone who might have experience with airline or hotel work
But there were all types. Hipsters. Sexpots. Young people. Old people. Squat, and towering. Lots of men in suits and trench coats, looking the part, with briefcases in hand. Once at the desk, the would-bes were asked a few questions: Could they stand on their feet for 12 or 13 hours at a time? Did they have any experience? When would they be available?
They should also create a reality show: LAST EXTRAS STANDING! LOL

The United States Senate voted unanimously Monday to delay the deadline for the country's transition to digital television by four months, despite initial resistance from Republicans and objections from the wireless industry. The delay moves the latest date for the switch from analog television broadcasting to digital transmission to June 12 from Feb. 17.
Consumer advocates and Senate Democrats have said a delay is needed in order to accommodate many of the poor, elderly or rural households who are not ready for the switch. Digital layover the Senate has OK’d a delay for four months, until June 12. (The House still has to act.)

The Board of Aldermen this week will consider a developer’s request for $3.4 million in tax increment financing for a 175-foot-high Ferris wheel on Laclede’s Landing between the Eads and the Martin Luther King bridges. The Rodgers Group of Clayton expects to spend $11.6 million on the project, including bonds financed by the TIF. Anheuser-Busch will be rolling out its commercials for this years Super Bowl festivities on Feb. 1. Anheuser-Busch, brewer of Budweiser and Bud Light, is the biggest sponsor again this year, with nine spots featuring talk-show host Conan O'Brien and Clysedale steeds. The price to air a Super Bowl 43 commercial on NBC this year was a record $3m. AdAge argues that this huge price tag is still a bargain even in a downward economy. AdAge describes the success some companies are having with their Super Bowl Ads. Anheuser-Busch for instance says that Super Bowl week is now the 7th biggest selling week of the year for the brewer and it is not in summer.
To help make its case, the company is enlisting its iconic Budweiser Clydesdales for three Super Bowl commercials, the horses' greatest exposure yet. That level of exposure is meant to be a pep talk of sorts for Anheuser-Busch's fans, a signal that the company's values will endure. St. Louis is jaded in the wake of InBev's takeover. But A-B still wants Budweiser to be seen as the quintessential American beer. This commercial, and others, needs to be right.
The minute-long commercial filmed in Los Angeles is a fable about how one Clydesdale came to America. At first, the horse struggles to find his way. But he perseveres and finds his true calling, paving the way for future generations.
Our question is, how many ads will air before former St. Louis Rams quarterback Arizona Cards’ Kurt Warner can claim victory and win the trophy? LOL.

But after its star Mickey Rourke, was nominated for an Academy Award for "The Wrestler," the chances of "Killshot" started to look good. The film is based on a novel by Elmore Leonard. It's about a hit man who pursues two witnesses in the hinterlands. It's got a killer cast, which in addition to Rourke stars Diane Lane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Thomas Jane and Rosario Dawson. Often we forget the little guy, the SMB, in our discussions of the comings and goings of the Internet marketing industry. Sure there are times like this when a report surfaces talking about their issues and concerns but, for the most part, we like to talk about big brands and how they do the Internet marketing thing well or not so well.

Laughter is a best solution of fear, anger and boredom.
There you have it, folks, in a nutshell: the chief
feature of My - Space is that it's quick and easy enough to use that you can post a bulletin or check a friend's page and be done in the two minutes that it takes
your boss to come over to your desk, suspicious that you're once again not working. And if you are not ready for it, then believe it, your boredom will stay.
