OUT 612--STL TIDBITZ AND MORE!

HELLO OUTTOWNERS!

ITS WEDNESDAY

TIME TO GET TOWNED!

Well, we are sure you all have heard by now about the horrible drive by killings that occurred last Friday morning that occurred during the wee hours of early Friday morning at 18th and Market street near the Main Post Office where three gentlemen were killed from a drive by shooting of the SUV they were rising in. And we are sure you have heard about their last whereabouts before the killings was at the Yo Gotti b-day party at Club Society and the subsequent closing of the venue (WE HAVE A WORDZ TO THE WHYZ DOWN BELOW TO ADDRESS THAT MATTER) Club Society after the city revoked owner john burns liquor license and his fight to get it reinstated. Well, we hear at OUTTOWN would just want to give our sympathies go to the families of the victims of this murder. There have been undisclosed sources of what were the motives of the shootings, possible targets and retaliation plots, but let us not forget that lives have been lost . If this is what to come within the next few months, we will have a very frightful summer indeed.

Many thousands came through last Friday to the Chaifetz Arena to attend 4sho 4 Kids’ Derrty Ent v Loose cannon II: Celebrity Basketball Game (PICTURED ARE NELLY and WELLZ FARGO SLIM of LOOSE CANNON) . Dubbed Saint Louis - A City Divided: Which Side Are You On (relating to the divided area codes 314 in the city reppin Derrty ENT and 636 in the county reppin Loose cannon Nelly’s Derrty Ent’s lost 112-110 not being able to retain its title from last year. But in the end, the charity won when parts of the proceeds raised went to Nelly’sother charity Jes 4 Jackie (named after co-founder his late sister Jackie Donahue who died from Leukemia in 2005), which helps raise money and awareness for the importance of African Americans to donate bone marrow for various cancers (they even had a testing kit ion the premises). Celebrities who attended and/or participated were the St. Lunatics, rapper Gipp, Young Dip of 104.1, Kansas City Chiefs;’ Will Franklin, East St. Louis b-baller Darius Miles, and Olympic champ Jackie Joyner Kersee who co-reffed the game. Half time entertainment was rappers Paul wall and newcomers FLY. The afterparty was held at Lush. (FOR PICS OF BOTH GO TO OUT 609)

After comedian Mike Epps’ bust out funny set at the Fox Saturday he chilled at the Jazz Spot in downtown STL. Decked out in all black (including a leather jacket), Epps hugged a few female fans and didn’t take any pics. He chilled in the VIP area made for the comedian along with his entourage. He came out to check out the party people get their party on, but for the most part he was in the cut (TO SEE PICS and COVERAGE OF HIS CONCERT GO TO OUT 610).

WTF happened with the Oprah Winfrey promo for the 2 piece grilled chicken? Nationwide, folk went crazy in lines waiting for hours to cop free dinners with the coupons that people had to download to get. Well, from reports, all KFCs (including the ones here in the St. Louis area) ran out of chicken even before the giveaway deadline (which was last Saturday before Mothers day). To help matters, national KFC promised to mail in redeeming coupons for a later date.

From mediatakeout.com, Here’s what one reader sent into AOL’s blog:

I went over to our nearest KFC a few minutes ago...and chaos ensued. Despite the very visible grilled chicken behind the register, the manager told everyone with coupons to leave and that the promotion was over for the day. The people there are currently holding a sit-in and refusing to leave until they get their free chicken .. .or the cops are called. Racial epithets were being spewed, people who actually wanted to pay for chicken were facing a potential beatdown, and the manager ran from the screaming horde.’

Wow that is crazy! Over some chicken? What started out as a campaign to promote good health with KFC’s grilled chicken, turned out people flipping over the bird. First mad Cow, then beloved, now we can safely say the Chicken raid ranks up there as an "Op-fu.'

First Orlando Pace gets cut, then Torrie Holt left, now The
St. Louis Rams released linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa last week which was according to reports a difficult choice for the St. Louis rams staff to do. Tinoisamoa played for a six-years here and spent much of the previous two seasons on the injured-reserve list.

RIP-BITZ. St. Louis bid farewell to last surviving Munchkin from the Wizard of Oz, St,. Lousian Mickey Carroll. Born Michael Finocchiaro, Carroll at age 7, began dance lessons at the
Fox Theater in St. Louis. It was there that Carroll met Jack Haley. Haley took him to Hollywood, where one of his first jobs was as "Mickey" in approximately seven of the Spanky and Our Gang series. At 17 he was one of six bellhops in the 'Call for Phillip Morris' live radio ads, and at 18 was appearing in shows with Mae West.
While under contract to MGM, he went to school with
Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. It was Garland herself who offered him a part in The Wizard of Oz.[ Carroll was cast as Munchkinland's "Town Crier". He also marched as a "Munchkin Soldier", and as one of the candy-striped "Fiddlers" who escorted Dorothy down the yellow brick road towards the Emerald City.
In November 2007, Carroll, along with six of the other remaining Munchkins, received a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame. Unfortunately Carroll was not granted a St. Louis Walk of Fame star in a very controversial decision made by STL Walk of fame creator and U City mogul Joe Edwards. Carroll was 89.

We would like to also give our sympathies to STL comedian Arvin Mitchell and his family. Mitchell lost his sister to a drag racer incident last Saturday in St. Louis. Also, a belated sympathies to Blue Springs, Mo native and 2007 American Idol winner David cook who’s brother succumbed to cancer last month.

IN THE MIA FILE—Where is socialite duo T and J?

BLIND BITZ—Which club recently had a fight going on in front of it involving the bouncers and some of the club members/ (hint. It wasn’t Club Society but two of the letters in "club society"
are part of this club’s name.)
BLIND BITZ EXTRA—Which event promoter told OUTTOWN that they will consider relocating its annual event out of town and/or attracting more white people to this event? (Hint. This event coordinator has a ‘related’ tie to the event and the event itself took over where a former annual event of the same nature and cause was a mainstay in the STL area .)

WORDZ to the WHYz.
Why were people almost causing riots for 4 dollars worth of chicken at KFC? Why did Michael Steele attend the Obama Roast Dinner? Why did the city close down Club Society when the drive by shootings happen far away from the club? And why people are scared to say that President Obama and First Lady are sexy? Why are people making a big deal of American idol frontrunner Adam Lambert is gay (and if I recall he hasn’t actually came out)? And Why is Forsyth Street West of big bend Blvd. like a demolition derby during rush hour with people not looking where they cross the streets and bikers thinking they rule the street?
