FOLKS GETTIN THEIR PARTY ON

HERE THERE AND EVERYWHERE

EVENT-VIEWZ. More than 500 people packed all up at the new J-Bucks ion Clark Street in downtown St. Louis to attend 1st Friday. It was more than a year since I attended a 1st Friday (The last was around this time last year when they had an all-white party at the Moolah Theatre) and I must say, things havent really changed since "retiring." The crowd is still young and there's nothing really much to do beside the usual, gettin your network and party on which isnt bad, but for folks to pay $15 (J) bucks for it, is well a 1st Friday thing (At least the ladies got in free before 10:30 p.m.)

It was definitely the night for the ladies. The event, co-sponsored by Budwesier Select, theme was Ladies First wherr ladies got in free and had the opportuinity to register for King Magazine's model search to win a photo shoot and $500 big ones with the magazine

(The winner will be selected on Sept. 14 at a secret venue).

1st Fridays mos def took over the spot makin the bartenders and waitresses of food and drink work triple time gettin err body served. I, myself, was gettin overheated, not just from the sight of the beautiful people, but it was hard to breathe hot air up in therre cause it was so crowded. For awhile I had to take a moment to get air in the lobby area where it was nice and cool.

Bit for the most part, all was fine right until the DJ Charlie Chan's sound system blew a circuit causing the beats to stop for about 10 minutes (The restaurants' house music began piping in the restaurant's speakers until the dee-jays were abvle to rectify the problem).

I met old and new friends (and a few enemies) and saw plenty of newborn couples developing up in therre as well. Other than that, it was as Frontline's Al Wade said, 'Its packed like this all the time."

Outside as people gathered, there was a problem with the valet service as the ratio of customers to a valet was about 20 to 1.(A sign that J Bucks did not prepare for the overwhelming crowd.) It was a chaotic scene but err body was cool and just continued their networking until they got their car"de-valeted."

Beside the following mentioned above in pics, others in the house were: St. Louis American's Bill Beene, Charles and Daniel Brown, stlonfire.com, indalou.com, Robert Kirk, Reno, Christiaan Cofield, Carlos McClaurin, Roy Robinson of FREE TIME, Treanna, Jamie Spencer and.................................................LIA.
